The challenge

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings appointed CJAM for its inaugural Old House Show at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, with the aim of promoting footfall and increasing membership to the country’s oldest conservation charity.

The work

CJAM worked closely with the Society’s in-house team on all aspects of promotion for the event, including marketing, branding, media partnership (Period Living), social media strategy and communication with members.

Online and print advertising and editorial was secured (including Evening Standard, Metro), whilst regular e-newsletters, tweets and posts ensured people started talking about the event.

Community engagement and a project to target estate agents ensured a wider, interested audience was informed about the work of the SPAB and the benefits of attending the show and becoming a member.

The result

3,200 visitors attended The Old House Show, surpassing SPAB’s projected attendance and new members figures.

“Thank you so much for all the work CJAM put into making the show such a success. The attendee numbers over the two days was more than we’d hoped for and we’ve had some really wonderful feedback from exhibitors and delegates.”
