Briggs to Chair ABI
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) board has nominated Andy Briggs, chief executive officer of Aviva UK Life, as its next chairman.
Briggs, who has been deputy ABI chair since November 2015 and is currently chair of the ABI audit committee, will officially take up the role after the ABI’s AGM in October, and succeeds AXA UK group chief executive Paul Evans.
He joined the group executive and Aviva PLC board in April 2015, to lead Aviva’s enlarged UK life business following the acquisition of Friends Life Group where he was group chief executive.
