Association’s new president pledges to boost membership
Kelly Baker, the new president of the UK chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES), has vowed to increase membership during her year at the helm.Baker, who takes over from immediate past president Jane Hague, revealed her plans to focus on education, in particular to help members learn more about the latest event technology available, at the ISES AGM at London’s EGG.
“I plan to keep moving it forward and grow the membership as well as retaining existing membership,” she told meetpie.com. “We want to see added benefits for members, like more education and better networking opportunities.”
Membership, which peaked at 184 members last year, currently stands at 171 – but Baker hopes to boost that figure to 200 during her presidency, before handing over the reins to president elect Kevin Jackson, from George P Johnson.
